Introduced to the great French wines, and more particularly to those of Burgundy, by his father, a humble wine and mineral water merchant from Fribourg, Romain started from an early age to develop a passion for the great Pinots Noirs and Chardonnays which he has been tasting, buying, drinking, comparing and re-tasting ever since this passion began. Romain has travelled extensively in neighbouring Burgundy, and has fallen for this exceptional region where sensory pleasures and the perpetuation of savoir-faire coexist in a quest for emotion, conviviality, experience and excellence. From 1937 to 2016, some 80 years of Burgundy viticulture are reflected with youth and brilliance in the bottles chosen by Romain Doglia for our Kipling sale. As you will have understood, this October sale is solely dedicated to Burgundy and reflects only a very small part of Dr. Romain Doglia’s extensive collection. That is why I am doubly pleased to announce that many other exceptional bottles illustrating the finest signatures of the French vineyards and the rest of the world will be put up for auction in our important end-of-year sale scheduled for 27 November 2022. Amongst the wines on offer there will be an important selection of mature wines, rare formats and vintages impossible to find on the market, all from the Swiss cellar of Dr. Romain Doglia.
