Savour the flavour…

Let me guide you through a selection of lots offered in our online auction wine o’clock” #91 to be held from Geneva on Tuesday, 14th of January 2025.

Lot 44
Vogüe, Musigny 1992

This charming Musigny finally enters into drinking phase. Not big and heavy as other vintages. Still needs 6-9hrs breathing while attractive purple flowers exploding with sweet dates and blue berries evolving in the palate. It is still fresh. Drink with patience.

Lots 60-61
Prieuré Roch, Clos Goillotte 2007

Prieure Roch is special. "Clos Goillotte" is special. Even though it is village, it is the secret vineyard to produce house wine for Prince Conti and family. Yannick and the team successfully made a seductive wine with riper style than its other cuvee while maintaining classic aromatic nose with black tea and spices.

Lot 172
Chave, Hermitage 1991

Vintage 1991 in Rhône is not easy. Even though it didn't frost like the rest of France, heavy rainfall in September had created trouble for ripeness and vine diseases. Great terroir and caring viticulture stood out this vintage. 1991 is a great vintage for Chave, in fact very comparable to 1990 which was regarded as a legendary vintage in most part of France. Look for the classic smoky, meaty flavors intertwined with red, dominantly blue fruits, flesh and dried.

Lot 200
Dervieux-Thaize,
Côte Rôtie “Cotes Brune Fontgent” 1986

Retired in 1990, Albert Derviex-Thaize is a legend in Rhone. He is the first one to bottle his own wines in Rhone dated back to 1920s. His attention to detail in the viticulture lead to successfully producing three different lieux-dits in Côte Rôtie while most of the vignerons would combine them. His wines are made for long term cellar. Now maybe a great time to see how it is evolved. Meaty, peppery, black fruits…
