Henri Gaunoux
Henri Gaunoux, son of Alexandre Gaunoux, was the grandfather of Claudine, the current owner of the Domaine. Born in 1897, Henri enlisted as a soldier in the First World War at only 21 years old. On his return in 1918, he resumed work at the Domaine accompanied by his father and carried out his first vinification alongside him.

In this sale, the first vintage made by Henri is presented in the colors of a 1926 Pommard Les Rugiens, and what a wine! This vintage remains exceptional in quality, thanks to very sunny weather which made it possible to harvest very ripe grapes. Henri will take care of the Domaine and the wines until 1960 after the return of his son François from the Algerian War.

Henri Gaunoux, fils d’Alexandre Gaunoux, était le grand-père de Claudine, actuelle propriétaire du Domaine. Né en 1897, Henri s’engage comme soldat dans la Première Guerre Mondiale à seulement 21 ans. A son retour en 1918, il reprend le travail au Domaine accompagné de son père et réalise sa première vinification à ses côtés.

Dans cette vente, le premier millésime réalisé par Henri est présenté sous les couleurs d’un Pommard Les Rugiens 1926, et quel vin ! Ce millésime reste exceptionnel en qualité, grâce à une météo très ensoleillée qui a permis de récolter des raisins bénéficiant d’une très grande maturité. Henri s’occupera du Domaine et des vins jusqu’en 1960 après le retour de son fils François de la Guerre d’Algérie.
